With romantic vocals and empowering lyrics, 23 year-old Raveena is moving on from toxic relationships in her new single, “If Only” via The Fader.
“If Only” is the sultry R&B follow up single to her mid-tempo music video, “Sweet Time” that originally premiered on i-D Magazine last month. Raveena’s freshman catalogue explores her deep passion for women of color joining together and peeling back the pages of her life. Along with the premiere of “If Only” she told The Fader, “I wrote the lyric ideas for ‘If Only’ a couple years ago after I had finally left a toxic relationship […] For me, this song is about recognizing your own strength and divinity as a woman and moving on from anyone in your life that doesn’t support that journey.” Raveena’s sensual delivery and velvety production has garnered the attention of Nylon, i-D, The Fader, and Pigeons and Planes.
Raveena’s highly-anticipated debut EP, Shanti featuring “If Only” and “Sweet Time” is available today. Look out for the “If Only” music video coming later this winter. Listen to the track below.
